Terms of Sale
1. About these terms
These terms govern the sale of goods through this website by MeLyssi74 ("we", "us"). By placing an order you agree to them. Please read them before you order — we recommend saving or printing a copy.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus and of the European Union. Where these terms and your statutory rights differ, your statutory rights prevail.
2. Our products
We sell honey and related products for personal consumption. Honey is a natural product: colour, texture, aroma and taste vary between batches, seasons and hives. Crystallisation — honey turning grainy or solid over time — is a natural property of raw honey and is not a fault or a sign of spoilage.
Photographs on this website are illustrative. Jar shapes, label designs and the exact shade of the honey may differ slightly from the images shown. Net weights are stated on each product and on the label.
3. Food safety and allergens
Honey must not be given to infants under 12 months of age. This is a standard precaution against infant botulism and applies to all honey, including ours.
Honey may contain traces of pollen and propolis and is not suitable for anyone with a known allergy to bee products. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ingredients, net weight, batch identification and best-before date are printed on every label.
4. Prices and VAT
All prices shown on this website are in euro (€) and include VAT at the rate applicable to each product. Delivery charges are additional and are calculated and displayed at checkout, before you pay, based on the weight of your basket and the delivery method you choose.
We may change prices at any time, but changes never affect an order we have already accepted. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price as a result of a technical or human error, we are not obliged to supply it at that price; we will contact you, and you may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.
5. How a contract is formed
Placing an order is an offer to buy. We will send you an email acknowledging that we have received it — this acknowledgement is not acceptance. A contract between us comes into existence only when we send you an email confirming that your order has been dispatched.
We may decline an order — for example if a product is unavailable, if we cannot deliver to your address, if payment is not authorised, or if we suspect fraud. If we decline an order that has already been paid for, we refund it in full.
6. Payment
Payment is taken at the time you place your order, by debit or credit card, through our payment provider Stripe. You are taken to Stripe's own secure payment page to enter your card details. We never see, handle or store your full card number.
Ownership of the goods passes to you when we receive payment in full. Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to you or, where you have chosen collection, when you collect them.
7. Delivery, returns and refunds
Delivery is covered by our Delivery Policy and cancellations, returns and refunds by our Returns & Refunds Policy, both set out below. They form part of these terms.
8. Our liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for business losses — we supply these products for domestic and private use only.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or under the law governing defective products.
9. Events outside our control
We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, courier failure, or interruption to power or telecommunications. If such an event occurs we will contact you and either agree a new delivery date or, if the delay is substantial, cancel the order and refund you in full.
10. Complaints and disputes
If something has gone wrong, please contact us first at melyssi74@gmail.com. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and to resolve them promptly.
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of the Republic of Cyprus have jurisdiction. As a consumer, you also have the right to bring proceedings in the country in which you live.
Please do not raise a chargeback with your bank before contacting us — most problems are quicker to solve directly.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the version published on this page at the moment you placed it. The "last updated" date above tells you when the current version took effect.
Delivery Policy
1. Where we deliver
We deliver within the Republic of Cyprus only. We are not able to accept orders for delivery to any other country, and addresses outside Cyprus cannot be entered at checkout.
2. Delivery options
Two options are offered at checkout:
- Home delivery — the courier delivers to the address you give us.
- Collection from a courier pickup point — your parcel is sent to a pickup point you choose, and you collect it from there. This option costs less.
3. Delivery charges
Delivery is charged by the total weight of your order, including packaging. The exact charge is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay — there are no charges added afterwards. Collection from a pickup point is charged at a lower rate than home delivery.
Where a free-delivery threshold applies, the order value needed to qualify is shown in your basket, together with how much more you would need to add.
4. Dispatch and delivery times
Orders are normally dispatched within 1–2 working days of payment. Delivery then takes 2–4 working days from dispatch.
Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Cyprus. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed; they may be longer during holiday periods or in bad weather.
5. Your delivery details
Please check your address and telephone number carefully before paying. The courier may telephone you to arrange delivery. We cannot be held responsible for delay or non-delivery caused by an incorrect or incomplete address, and where a parcel is returned to us for that reason the cost of re-sending it is payable by you.
6. Failed delivery and uncollected parcels
If nobody is available to receive a home delivery, the courier will normally leave a card and attempt redelivery or hold the parcel locally. Parcels sent to a pickup point are held for a limited period set by the courier.
If a parcel is returned to us undelivered or uncollected, we will contact you. You may ask us to send it again at your cost, or we will refund the price of the goods less the original delivery charge and any return cost we have incurred.
7. Damaged, lost or delayed parcels
If your parcel arrives damaged, please tell us within 48 hours of delivery at melyssi74@gmail.com, with photographs of the outer packaging and the contents. Please keep the packaging until the matter is settled.
If your parcel has not arrived within 10 working days of dispatch, contact us and we will trace it with the courier. Where a parcel is confirmed lost, we will send a replacement or refund you in full, including delivery. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
Returns & Refunds Policy
This policy explains when you may cancel an order, when food products can and cannot be returned, and what happens if something arrives damaged or is not what you ordered.
1. Cancelling before dispatch
You can cancel an order at no cost at any time before it is dispatched. Email us at melyssi74@gmail.com with your order number as soon as possible and we will refund you in full, including the delivery charge.
2. Your 14-day right to withdraw
As a consumer buying at a distance, you generally have 14 days from the day you receive the goods to change your mind and withdraw from the contract, without giving a reason. You do not need to justify the decision.
To withdraw, tell us clearly within that period — an email to melyssi74@gmail.com quoting your order number is enough. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back.
3. Important exception — opened or unsealed food
The law recognises that food cannot always be taken back. The 14-day right to withdraw does not apply to:
- sealed goods which are not suitable for return for reasons of health protection or hygiene, once they have been unsealed after delivery — this covers any jar that has been opened; and
- goods which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly.
In practice this means: an unopened jar, with its seal intact, in its original undamaged packaging, may be returned within the 14-day period. An opened jar cannot be returned or refunded on change-of-mind grounds. This exception does not apply where a product is damaged, defective or not what you ordered — those are covered in section 6 below, and your rights there are unaffected.
4. Returning goods
Where you exercise the 14-day right, you pay the cost of returning the goods to us. Please pack them so they arrive undamaged and use a trackable service — until they reach us they remain your responsibility.
You are responsible for any reduction in the value of the goods caused by handling them beyond what is necessary to establish their nature and characteristics. We may deduct that reduction from your refund.
5. How refunds are made
We refund to the same card or method you used to pay. No fee is charged for this.
Where you have withdrawn under the 14-day right, we refund the price of the goods and the standard delivery charge we originally charged you — we do not have to refund the extra cost of any faster or premium delivery option you chose. We make the refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of your proof of having sent them, whichever is earlier.
Depending on your bank, the money may take a few further working days to appear on your statement.
6. Damaged, defective or wrong items
This is separate from changing your mind, and our promise here is more generous.
If an item arrives broken or leaking, is not what you ordered, or is not of satisfactory quality, contact us at melyssi74@gmail.com with your order number and photographs. Report damage within 48 hours of delivery where you can, so we can raise it with the courier.
We will replace the item or refund it in full at your choice, including the delivery charge. You will not be asked to pay return postage, and in most cases we will not ask for the item back. Please do not consume a product you believe is defective.
Crystallised honey is not a defect (see the Terms of Sale). It can be softened by standing the sealed jar in warm — not boiling — water.
7. If you are unhappy with the outcome
Contact us first and we will try to put it right. You may also be entitled to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme, or to bring proceedings in the courts of the Republic of Cyprus or of the country in which you live.
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website or buy from us, why we hold it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. It is written to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible for your data
Data controller: MeLyssi74
M. Kouloumis Apiaries, Nicosia District, Cyprus
Email: melyssi74@gmail.com
Telephone: 96 455558
2. What we collect
- Order and contact details — your name, email address, telephone number, delivery address or chosen pickup point, and the contents and value of your order.
- Payment information — a payment reference and the outcome of the transaction. We never receive or store your card number, expiry date or security code; these go directly to our payment provider.
- Enquiry details — anything you choose to write to us in a message or email.
- Technical data — your IP address, browser and device type, and server logs, kept for security and troubleshooting.
- Usage data — anonymous statistics about how pages on this site are used, collected through analytics cookies (see the Cookie Policy below).
3. Why we hold it, and on what legal basis
- To perform our contract with you — taking payment, packing and delivering your order, sending order confirmations and delivery updates, and handling returns.
- To meet legal obligations — in particular keeping accounting, VAT and tax records.
- For our legitimate interests — keeping the website secure, preventing fraud and abuse of our forms, and answering enquiries.
- With your consent — analytics cookies and, if you ever ask for them, marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to make automated decisions that produce legal effects for you.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only where it is needed to run the service. Our processors are:
- Stripe — card payment processing. Stripe receives your name, email, order amount and card details, which you enter on Stripe's own page.
- Our courier — receives your name, delivery address or pickup point and telephone number, so that your parcel can be delivered.
- Google (Google Analytics) — website usage statistics.
- Cloudflare (Turnstile) — protects our forms from automated abuse.
- Our email and hosting providers — used to send order emails and to run this website.
We may also disclose data where we are required to by law. If we add a processor that materially affects your privacy, we will update this policy.
5. Transfers outside the EEA
Some of our processors may store or process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission or by Standard Contractual Clauses, so that your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.
6. How long we keep it
- Order, invoice and payment records — kept for as long as tax and accounting law in Cyprus requires us to keep them. We cannot delete these earlier, even on request.
- Enquiries and correspondence — kept only for as long as needed to deal with the matter and a reasonable period afterwards.
- Server and security logs — kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
- Analytics data — retained according to the settings of the analytics service, in aggregated form.
7. Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you; to have inaccurate data corrected; to have data erased where we have no continuing reason to keep it; to restrict or object to certain processing; to receive your data in a portable form; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these, email melyssi74@gmail.com. We respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Cyprus, or to the supervisory authority in the country where you live.
8. Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to order data is restricted to the people who need it, protected by individual accounts and passwords, and card data never reaches our systems at all. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
9. Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above shows when the current version took effect. Material changes will be made clear on this page.
